Marisport is a footwear manufacter, based in Felgueiras, at about 50 Km from Oporto, on the North of Portugal.

At the begining of it´s activity, it produced basically mens sport footwear, for the Portuguese market, as well as a kind of boot that still produces today, that became very popular on October and November.

Today, Marisport is a company specialized in safety, occupational and casual footwear, for man, woman and children, being a S.A.T.R.A. Menber for more than 10 years. The main countries to where we export are: Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, United Kingdom, Finland and Sweden.

The company employs about 150 persons and has an average daily production of 1.200 pairs.

The company has qualified personel highly skilled on the most diversed areas and uses modern technology aimed to assure to it´s customers a very high quality and fiability of its products.

To be noted that Marisport was one of the first footwear producers in Portugal to make safety footwear according to the requirements of the European Directives that regulate the making of Personal Protective Equipment with the “CE” mark.

Another side of the company is the “Oficial” market, that being, international public contracts, for which it produces highly technical products, like firefighters footwear, military footwear and others.

Safety: These products are intended for users that need footwear to be used on industrial environments. These products are certified according to the European standard EN 345, which regulates the production of “Safety footwear for Professional use”. All these products are tested in official laboratories and are certified by S.A.T.R.A. Techology Centre (England).

Description of some of the technical possibilities.

Casual: The products in this class are submited to a rigourous quality control, being continously tested on specialized laboratories. The intention is to test and improve the quality of the materials used and production methods employed, aiming the best quality and durability of the products.

Marisport has a certified quality system, for the design and production of safety and casual footwear, according to NP EN ISO 9001:2008.

Marisport ended its initial certification process in 2000 according to ISO 9002. In 2008, due to the changes on the certification standards, Marisport sucessfully ended its certification according to the new NP EN ISO 9001:2008.

To maintain its certification, Marisport is regularly audited by APCER – Portuguese Association for Certification, to ensure the maintenace of its quality system.
